I have not yet read the actual play, but now that I've read your absolutely gripping retelling, I'm so eager to! So fascinating to see Oedipus vacillate between the old, broken beggar, eager to round the final bend of the course of his miserable life, and the angry, imperious, impulsive ruler of Thebes. This is so, so great—thank you!

I'm not sure I've ever heard this part of the Odeipus story. Interesting to contemplate his final days.

Wow, remarkable, as always, the way you bring this all so clearly to life! I always enjoy your posts and like Linda said, eagerly await the next one! Also l must say, l read stories that in some way are concerned with prophecies or signs differently than l used to - l take those aspects of the story much more seriously and as a meaningful part of it all, and it makes sense to me that these characters would take them seriously, too. Thank you for this!
